Vermont’s landmark child care law, Act 76, laid the foundation for an equitable and sustainable child care system. We’ve made real progress, but our work is not finished.
Let’s Grow Kids Action Network will continue supporting Vermont’s child care movement through the next phase of the campaign. We will do this by building relationships and working closely with child care champs in the state house, supporting candidates in future elections who prioritize child care, and by coordinating advocacy efforts with key partners across the state.
In this next phase of the campaign, we will be focused on:
- Protecting all public funding in Vermont’s child care system.
- Increasing affordability and access for families.
- Strengthening the ECE workforce.
And we need your help. For decades, Vermonters from across the political spectrum have come together to make absolutely clear: Child Care is Essential. Act 76 and the progress we’re seeing on the ground today would not have been possible without your advocacy. Join us to continue building a child care system that works for all Vermonters.

LGKAN will continue to build the political will necessary to pass transformative child care policy at the state house. In this next phase, our statewide child care partners will continue to be key leaders in the child care eco-system. Here’s a little more information about them:
- The Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC) will continue supporting the early childhood field and strengthening the workforce;
- First Children's Finance- Vermont (FCF-VT) will continue its system capacity work while also providing business and technical support for child care programs;
- Building Bright Futures (BBF) will remain focused on child care system-level data tracking and accountability;
- And the Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance which will continue to convene partners advocating across the entire early childhood system.
